Lebanon Reports Deadly Israeli Strikes Over Past Twenty-Four Hours
According to figures released by the ministry, the latest deaths bring the total number of fatalities since March 2 to 2,089, while the number of injured has reached 6,762.
Officials said the victims include 252 women and 166 children, with hundreds of women and children also among the wounded.
The Israeli military has expanded its air and ground operations across Lebanon following a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2, despite a ceasefire agreement that had taken effect in November 2024.
The escalation is unfolding alongside wider regional tensions linked to a US-Israeli campaign against Iran, which has reportedly resulted in more than 3,300 deaths since late February.
Recent diplomatic efforts have included US and Iranian officials holding direct talks in Pakistan over the weekend, though those discussions ended without agreement.
Lebanon and Israel are also expected to hold their first meeting in Washington on April 14, aimed at establishing a ceasefire framework and initiating direct negotiations.
Reports note that Israel continues to maintain a presence in parts of southern Lebanon, including areas it has occupied for decades as well as locations taken during previous rounds of conflict.
